Things to Do

Hiking

Day trips into the Udzungwa Mountains National Park are a great chance to see some rare wildlife. Hike to the top of Sanje Waterfall or visit the habituated troup of Sanje Crested Mangebys if they are in the area. Other day hikes include a visit to Magombera Forest or a walk along the Njokamoni Waterfall Trail.

Trekking

For those feeling a little more adventurous, there is the exciting option of trekking into the heart of the park and climb Mwhanihana or Luhumero Peaks. You will hike with an armed ranger, for your protection from the numerous large mammals...

Birdwatching

The Udzungwa Mountains are home to over 250 species of birds and the National Park is one of the top 10 Important Bird Areas (IBA) in Africa. Birdwatching is best at dawn and dusk. From the lodge many species can be seen in comfort.

Cultural Tourism

Visit traditional farms, fishing villages, local schools, Womens Weaving Groups and much more. The high tribal diversity of the Kilombero valley makes it an ideal place to explore unspoilt traditional culture.

Relaxing

Have a break from it all and sit at the bar or on your veranda with a pair of binoculars and a gin and tonic - or just reed a book and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
